The Becker Companies began near Orlando, in 1952, when Richard Becker bought his first 180-acre grove. Here, the first step was taken toward building a family enterprise that would one day become a leader in Florida’s citrus industry. Becker has now become a company identified by quality of its products and the scope of its operation.
Since that first grove was picked and processed over 50 years ago, three generations of Becker family members have dedicated themselves to the success of the company. After Richard Becker’s passing in 2005, his grandsons – Rick, Scott and Tom Hurley – carry on his legacy as they oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm. Their success has lead to a steady acquisition of new groves and businesses and placed the Becker Companies as industry leaders.
Size and family ownership are just two of the factors in the
company’s success. From the growth of young trees in Becker’s
own tree farm and nursery, to the well-groomed groves, to one
of the largest landscape construction companies in Florida, every
step, every phase receives the careful attention of people who
are deeply committed to the philosophy of excellence upon which
the company was founded.
